While quite a few people would say that a livestream platform about watching other people play games makes no sense, that hasn't stopped Twitch from growing to enormous heights. In-fact, it's more popular than ever, now bringing in more viewership than major cable networks.

During the month of January 2018 Twitch averaged at just under one million concurrent viewers (962,000). This puts its viewer base nearly at the levels of fake news channels such as Fox News and ESPN (1.5 million~), and higher than CNN (783,000) and MSNBC (885,000).

The most popular games for the month were long-reigning favorites League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, although Monster Hunter World also made a strong impression toward the tail end of the month.
